1. Who We Are

ChoreCrusher is operated by Outpost Digital Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company. When this policy says "ChoreCrusher," it refers to our iOS app, macOS app, and website at chorecrusher.com (collectively, the "Services").

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address — when you sign in with a magic link or provide your email on our waitlist.
• Display name — chosen during onboarding or imported from your Google account.
• Profile photo — imported from your Google account if you sign in with Google, or left as your chosen avatar.
• Household content — chore names, descriptions, schedules, assignments, reward names, and other content you create inside the app.

Information collected automatically:

• Account type — whether you signed in with Google, email, or anonymously.
• Usage data — Firebase automatically collects basic diagnostic and performance data (e.g., crash reports) to help us keep the app stable. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.
• reCAPTCHA signals — when you sign in, Google's reCAPTCHA Enterprise analyzes browser and device signals (IP address, user agent, interaction patterns) to detect abuse. This data is processed by Google under their privacy policy.

Information we do NOT collect:

• Payment or billing information (the app currently has no paid features)
• Precise location data
• Contacts or address book access
• Camera or microphone access
• Any data beyond what is described above

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and household
• Sync chores, rewards, and household data across your devices
• Send magic link sign-in emails when you request them
• Prevent fraud and abuse using reCAPTCHA
• Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
• Respond to your support requests or questions

We do not use your information for advertising, sell it to data brokers, or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share data only with the infrastructure providers necessary to run ChoreCrusher:

• Google Firebase — provides our database (Firestore), authentication, file storage, and hosting. Your data is stored on Google's servers. See Firebase's privacy documentation.
• Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise — processes sign-in requests to detect automated abuse. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple — distributes the iOS and macOS apps through the App Store. Apple may collect analytics related to App Store usage per their own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firebase Security Rules to ensure users can only access data belonging to their own household.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account exists or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Anonymous accounts that have been inactive for more than 180 days may be automatically deleted.

7. Children's Privacy

ChoreCrusher is a family app designed for use by parents and children together. However, the Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

Children under 13 should only use ChoreCrusher under the supervision of a parent or guardian who creates and manages the household account. The parent or guardian is responsible for the account and any content added by minor family members.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at hello@chorecrusher.com and we will promptly remove that information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information (you can update your display name and photo in the app)
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of any non-essential data processing

9. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information.

We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at hello@chorecrusher.com.

10. International Users

ChoreCrusher is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

By using ChoreCrusher, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice.

Your continued use of ChoreCrusher after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
